This is one piece of a larger new hire onboarding project that includes videos, interactive software demos, and eLearning. The goal of this section of the course is to familiarize new hires with common clinical research terms that they will encounter on a daily basis working with clients.
Audience: Newly hired staff who lack experience in clinical research
Responsibilities: Needs Analysis, Instructional Design, eLearning Development, and Graphic Design
Tools Used: Adobe XD, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Illustrator
Client: A small software company that focuses on clinical trial data collection
Year: 2022
My client is a small software company that focuses on clinical trial data collection. The company is in an exciting period of growth, and is able to rapidly expand their staff. As the company works to fill positions in a variety of departments, more and more new hires lack experience in clinical research.
My client requested a training program that would bring new hires up to speed with information from the company’s history, the basics of clinical research, and how to use their evolving software platforms.
Working with a knowledgeable group of staff members to identify and prioritize the company’s greatest needs, we devised a comprehensive training program for newly hired team members.
I began by meeting with the client to learn more about the organization, employees, and current training structures in place. We discussed the new influx of staff members who had expertise outside of the clinical research field who were now being immersed in the industry.
After we had developed the areas of focus and project goals, I adapted the existing script to meet our needs, developed the storyboard, created visual design mock-ups, prototyped, and developed the final project getting client feedback and approval at each step along the way.
I’m not able to share the whole project here, but you can experience one of the user interactions here.
